Topic sizing

Overview

You can assign a size to a topic, which can be a helpful shorthand for your team to see and remember how much work the topic is expected to entail.
Topic sizing is completely optional. You can choose to assign sizes to some topics and not others, or you can fully disable topic sizing in your organization if it's not helpful to you.

Step-by-step

Changing a topic's size

To change a topic's size, visit the topic's page and select a size from the dropdown at the top of the page.

Changing your organization's sizing scheme

Flat comes out-of-the-box with two common sizing schemes:
  • T-shirt sizes: x-small, small, medium, large, x-large, xx-large
  • Fibonacci points: 1pt, 2pts, 3pts, 5pts, 8pts, 13pts, 20pts, 40pts, 100pts
To change your organization's sizing scheme, visit Admin Settings | General. You can also disable topic sizing if your team prefers not to use it.
Need a different sizing scheme? Contact us. Flat supports arbitrary topic sizing schemes, but they're not currently configurable in the Admin Settings | General.
The Admin Settings section is only visible to team members with the Admin role.
